WHAT IS
ANANAS?

A puzzle is just the beginning.

Ananas creates illustrated worlds inspired by Africa, built around characters you can return to again and again. Our first world takes Abiti and Wurro into Merkato, Addis Ababa's sprawling city market, where every stall, street corner and passing character has something to discover.

It's a puzzle.

It's a scavenger hunt.

It's a story you can hold.

And it's only the first world.

MEET ABITI
AND WURRO

Two travellers.

A continent to explore.

Abiti is curious. Wurro is his cat. Together, they have a habit of finding themselves somewhere interesting. Today, they're in Merkato. Tomorrow, they could be exploring Lalibela, Zanzibar, Lagos, Cairo or somewhere entirely unexpected. And sometimes they'll travel through time too, discovering stories from African history along the way.

FIRST WORLD
MERKATO

Chaos at the City Market 500 pieces. One very busy Addis morning. Step into Merkato, one of Africa's largest open-air markets. The first Ananas puzzle is packed with characters, details and little stories waiting to be discovered.

Find Abiti.

Find Wurro.

Then start looking closer.

WHY ANANAS
EXISTS

Africa has stories. It doesn't have its Waldo.

There are incredible African stories everywhere. But children rarely encounter them through the characters, worlds and physical products they grow up with. Walk into a toy aisle and you'll find plenty of characters to recognise. Most of them come from somewhere else.

Ananas is building something different:
original African characters, original African worlds, and physical products people can keep, collect and pass on.

MADE WITH
AFRICAN CREATORS

The worlds are ours to build.

The stories are ours to tell.

Every new Ananas world is created with an African illustrator.
Artists are commissioned upfront and participate in the success of the worlds they help create through royalties.
As Ananas grows, so does the catalogue of African illustration, characters and stories.

WHY PUZZLES?

Put the screen down.

There is something different about sitting around a table and looking for one tiny piece together. No notifications. No loading screen. Just a picture slowly appearing in front of you. Ananas is designed for families, curious kids, collectors and anyone who likes a good challenge.

Make Sundays feel like Sundays again.

THE BIGGER
PICTURE

We're not building one puzzle. We're building a library of African worlds.

Today, that's puzzles. Tomorrow, the characters can travel into prints, books, collaborations and licensing.

The ambition is simple:

Build African-owned characters people know, love and want to keep.
